Raul Alejandro Ruiz Ocasio Ruiz was born on the 10th of January 1993 is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He is known as "the King of the New Reggaeton"[2][3] and belongs to "the new generation of Puerto Rican urban artists. [4] His debut studio album, Afrodisiaco, was released in November of 2020. The album that followed, Vice Versa, released in June 2021. It featured the lead single "Todo de Ti". Two Latin Grammy Awards have been awarded to him out of 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz was born on the 10th of January 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz played guitar and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his vocalist backing. He was introduced to music by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. 6 For a number of years, Alejandro and his father resided in the continental United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where they were influenced by the R&B and dancehall genres. Alejandro and Anuel A.A. who is a colleague of Puerto Rican rapper are childhood acquaintances. They attended the same school together and attended classes together. [9][10] Alejandro took part in school talent shows in his early years because he is a dancer. He was enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico after the completion of high school. He was a soccer player from six to twenty-five. However, he quit playing because he wasn't performing the way he imagined. At age 20, he suffered an injury. To be a scout for the Premier Development League (PDL) and then move to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's style of music includes Latin R&B, reggaeton, ballads, and rhythmic pop. Billboard said that his music has "set his music distinct" from the growing group of Reggaetoneros with a pop-leaning. Presley and Jackson had a profound influence on him in the beginning before being later followed by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also mentions Ciara as an inspiration for his music.
